Just so you're not confused..

Princess Reese, also known as “Shorty Q”, is a 17 year old emerging “Lite Feet” dancer who always knew she loved to dance.  Born in Queens but raised in the Bronx, Princess had people dancing around her constantly; her father was an avid break-dancer and into popping, her sister was a choreographer, and her older brother was into a growing dance form called Lite Feet. Because of her unfamiliarity with Lite Feet, Princess gravitated toward it and decided to learn more.

About a year ago, Princess’ friend “Bbq” started teaching her the basics of Lite Feet and he asked if she wanted to be “under” him. (“Under” is terminology used in the dance world to describe a dance mentor/mentee relationship.   The mentee learns from the mentor, adopts his/her dance style and receives stage name in the likeness of the mentor, hence Princess’ stage name, Shorty Q.) After months of dancing under Bbq, Shorty Q branched out to continue developing her unique style.  While she kept her name stage name, Shorty Q got under a “bone breaker” on the scene, Q-tip. Shorty Q thought that combining the two styles together would make her dancing look so dope.

During that time, Shorty Q joined two dance teams, the "Juice Crew," and her main team, the "2LiveKrew."   She also joined two street dance organizations; “Kings/QueensOfSpank,” and “LockInCity.”  That is when she became one of the busiest people alive. The amount of dedication she had kept her dancing everyday. She started going to all types of hip hop and Lite Feet dance sessions in Queens, on 96th St, 14th St, 59th St, 23rd St, and in the Bronx on Moshulu Pkwy  just to practice and perfect the style she wanted to have. She put herself on a schedule to better organize and track her progress; one week working on footwork, then another week working on bone breaking, the next week working on catching different beats and so on. The progress became unbelievable!

Shorty Q’s dancing was first filmed at a community center in Queens with the Juice Crew.  Footage from that filming was put on display on YouTube.  Since that time, she has posted additional video clips of her dancing on YouTube for the KOS/QOS Organization and a performance that took place in Columbus Circle.  In addition to showcasing her talents online, Shorty Q has organized performance opportunities for her and her team such as a last minute show with her team 2LK at a community center on 164 & Third Ave.

Currently, Shorty Q is Lady-CEO of Juice Crew and the Lock in City Organization. She left her old team "2LK", because of the lack of organization and is now 2 Real. She doesn't plan on leaving 2 Real ever. She dances every day, is still planning shows, and takes care of her team. The manager of Lock In City is working on a movie to star the organization, of which Shorty Q will be a part of.

When people see her "art" Shorty Q wants people to think "Wow, this is different," or maybe even, "That's cool, I want to learn how to do that dance." Her message to anyone reading is, be unique with whatever talent you have, whether it is dancing, singing, drawing, producing, whatever! Think outside the box and influence others as well. If they are not good at it, tell them they can get good at it. It is better than having a friend that just loves being in the streets. A simple little hobby can simply save lives and at least you're spreading talent.
